Former Chief Justice David Maraga is calling on the government to ensure continuous voter registration runs smoothly and efficiently ahead of the 2027 General Election. Speaking during the opening of the United Green Movement Party’s Mombasa County office in Kisauni, Maraga urged IEBC to conduct a door-to-door voter registration drive to reach more eligible voters, particularly in remote and marginalized areas. The former Chief Justice, who is also the UGM presidential flag bearer for 2027, expressed concerns over the slow pace of the ongoing exercise, warning that many Kenyans risk being locked out of the polls owing to low voter awareness.
