The Ministry of Health has recorded progress in the fight against tuberculosis, registering a 41% reduction in TB incidence rate and a 65% drop in TB mortality since 2015. Attributing the success to improved diagnostics, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale emphasized the need for more diagnostic services of TB and lung diseases. In 2024, the country recorded over 96 thousand drug-sensitive TB cases alongside 750 drug-resistant TB cases. Duale spoke while flagging off 80 ultra–portable AI–powered digital x-ray systems and launching integrated lung health guidelines in Nairobi.
