New nationwide health report exposes service gaps, staff shortages, and preventable maternal deaths

A new nationwide assessment of over 3,600 health facilities conducted in 2024 has revealed serious gaps in service delivery, staff shortages, and accountability failures, including cases of negligence which have led to preventable maternal deaths. Speaking in Nairobi during the launch of the assessment report, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale decried the increasing cases of maternal death in the Country, terming them unacceptable.
