Tourism stakeholders from the East African region have assured tourists of their safety ahead of the general elections scheduled for October in Tanzania and January 2026 for Uganda, as they seek to promote regional tourism to spur growth within the sector. Speaking on the sidelines of the 4th Uganda Kenya coast tourism conference and Exhibition in Malindi, Kilifi County, the stakeholders called for collaboration in the sector as the two nations undergo their democratic processes to forego the over-reliance on internationals to sustain the sector within the East African Region.
