The Youth in Bofa area Kilifi County are using sporting activities to attract their peers into environmental conservation and restoration of mangrove forests in the area. Through an initiative dubbed the Najimudu Empowerment Initiative (NEI), a youth and women-led organisation the team aims to build climate resilient communities by engaging youth, women and persons with disabilities to co-create inclusive and sustainable solutions. The group targets to plant at least 300,000 mangrove seedlings at the Kilifi Creek by 2030.
