The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has filed an appeal challenging a high court ruling to unfreeze assets of Wilson Nahashon Kanani a junior employee at Nairobi city council and director of 1824 club. This comes a day after the high court declined to grant orders for Kanani to forfeit to the state 643.2 million shillings worth of assets. According to the anti-graft body the judgment is a step backwards in the fight against graft and allowing it to stand would set a bad precedence.
