The planned Monday demonstrations failed to kick off as police blocked and arrested several youths who had planned to participate in the protests in different areas around the country. in Mombasa and Kisumu counties, police cordoned off the planned demonstration sites, forcing the organizers to seek alternative sites as at least 4 people were arrested. Activists and Kenyans who turned out to express their anger over the increase in abduction cases demanded that they be stopped immediately
