The 9 pm Wednesday fire is said to have been caused by a candle before it quickly spread to other houses. The Kitengela fire engine which arrived at the scene 30 minutes later is said to have helped put off the fire before spreading further. The families are now appealing to well-wishers and the county government emergency department to aid them with bedding and foodstuff.
