A section of warehouse workers from Changamwe, Mombasa County is appealing to the government to intervene in a payment rate stalemate that has remained unresolved by their employers. The workers under the Kenya Shipping Clearing, Freight Logistics and Warehouse Union(KSCFLWWU)staged a peaceful demonstration, demanding the full implementation of a pending Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) 2023/2024. Led by their branch union officials, the irate workers also blamed the infiltration of what they termed as cartels and brokers who they accused of frustrating the implementation of the CBA, which dictates an increase of piece rate payments by 4 percent.
