EAC summit fails to resolve DRC conflict

    The extraordinary East Africa summit called by chairperson President William Ruto, yielded so little in its quest to find a solution to the ongoing hostilities in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. President Felix Tshisekedi of DRC failed to honor the invitation to the meeting that was attended by seven heads of state. Tshisekedi and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame have been at loggerheads since the beginning the conflict as DRC blames Kigali government for supporting m23 rebels, the killing of 13 South African soldiers in the war has resulted in new diplomatic tensions between Rwanda and South Africa.
