A section of contractors and suppliers from Garissa County is pleading with President William Ruto to intervene and have their dues owed by the county government paid. The contractors allege that they provided various services amounting to 3 billion shillings a decade ago but efforts to settle the debt have hit a dead end. Through their Chairman Omar Yasin Mohamed, they now want the president who is scheduled to visit North Eastern Counties this week to pronounce himself on the matter as most of them are reeling in debt and threats by auctioneers.
