Eastern DRC is rich in natural resources. It is also the region that has been the target of a brutal conflict between the rebel group M23 and the DRC's Armed Forces. The war currently raging in this region is making it near impossible to certify the metals mined there are not used to fund armed groups and their brutal war. They enter the global markets and make their way into our everyday electronic devices.
