A scheduled press conference by members of the newly formed Sudan founding alliance failed to take off this evening. The press conference was initially scheduled to take place at 6pm this evening but was moved to 8pm before it was cancelled. The convenors of the meeting said the delay and subsequent post ponment was to allow all the parties to agree on the text of the interim constitution. Amongst the parties that failed to show up for the press conference were SPLM North and the Unionist Party. This is the third time for the parties to fail to hold a press conference that was planned. The parties signed a pact on Sunday, marking a significant step in the quest to form a government of unity in war torn Sudan
