Former Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu has suffered a major blow in his quest to secure freedom, after being denied bail pending the hearing and determination of his sentencing appeal. In her ruling,High Court Judge Lucy Njuguna said the right to bail after conviction is not a constitutional requirement because the offender loses his consent of innocent after conviction . Waititu will remain at Industrial Area Medium Prison awaiting review of the case on Tuesday, 18th March 2025.
