As the world marks World Engineering Day, women engineers across the country have taken a step to mentor Junior Secondary learners, equipping them with knowledge about engineering to inspire future careers in the field. Speaking during a mentorship program at Utumishi Sacco Primary in Kitengela, Institution of Engineers of Kenya CEO, Eng. Moreen Auka, emphasized that the initiative aims to encourage more girls to take up STEM subjects and make informed career choices. The mentorship program, led by women engineers, seeks to bridge the gender gap in engineering, where female representation remains significantly low.
