A group of young people in Nyeri County has called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to take voter registration services closer to the people, saying many citizens—especially those in rural areas—have been left out. Speaking at the Karatina market during a sensitization exercise, members of the Sauti Mpya Gen-Z Movement argued that the current registration centers are too far for many unemployed youth to access. Movement leader Antony Sankale said that just as polling stations are set up in every village, voter registration centers should also be decentralized to improve accessibility.
