Police investigate killing of Goshen Medical College 2nd year nursing student

Police in Makindu subcounty have launched a probe following the killing of a second-year nursing student from Goshen Medical College in Thika who was allegedly stabbed to death. According to preliminary police investigations, the student and two other classmates had gone out to celebrate the end of their attachment, a quarrel ensued after they returned to their rented houses, leading to a violent confrontation.What began as a night of celebration would end tragically in Makindu Township, Makueni County, after a second-year nursing student from Goshen Medical College in Thika was stabbed to death.The student and two of her classmates had reportedly gone out to celebrate the end of their attachment at a local Sub county Hospital .Meanwhile, the main suspect, who also suffered knife injuries, is receiving treatment at Makindu Subcounty Hospital and will be handed over to police once discharged the third student, Sharon Muteti, is being held for questioning with the police also interviewing witnesses, including a boda boda rider and a neighbour who filmed the incident.The body of the deceased was transferred to Makindu Subcounty Hospital mortuary. In Kiambu county, a wave of panic has gripped Boma Village, Kiawanda area, after suspected arsonists torched a family home following two earlier failed attempts. Ndeiya Sub-county Police Commander Rosslyn Mnyolmo confirmed the incident, saying one suspect has been arrested as investigations to establish the motive behind the repeated attacks continue.Finally, Detectives from the Homicide Unit have today released ten bodies of victims of the Shakahola massacre for burial in the Western and Nyanza regions.Families who were present at the morgue confirmed the bodies that had been positively identified through DNA matching. Authorities say the bodies included one from Likuyani, two from Malava, another two from Butere, two from Emuhaya, and one from Kisii.
