Court stops police recruitment pending case hearing

The police constables recruitment exercise suffered another setback on Monday when the Constitutional and Human Rights Review division of the High Court stopped the National Police Service from conducting it on the rescheduled 17th November 2025 date. Judge Bahati Mwamuye issued the orders after a petitioner Eliud Matindi, challenged the constitutionality of the recruitment process to be carried out by the Inspector General of Police and the National Police Service instead of the National Police Service Commission. And as Ruth Wamboi reports, the new direction by the constitutional court puts on hold the Employment and Labour Relations ruling that was issued on 30th October this year.
