According to the World Health Organisation, over 100,000 deaths are reported annually in Sub-Saharan Africa due to the use of substandard and falsified medical products. The lab, by the Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (Meds), is set to bolster testing for microbial contamination and ensure access to quality, safe and effective medicines.
