Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has arrived at the Abeid Amani Karume International Airport and was received by Saada Mkuya Salum, Minister for State, Finance, and Planning, Government of Zanzibar and Kenya High Commissioner to Tanzania Isaac Njenga. He is representing President William Ruto at the 60th-anniversary celebrations of the Zanzibar Revolution, an event that will be held at The New Amaan Complex Stadium. Zanzibar Revolution Day is a public holiday in Tanzania observed on January 12th. The day marks the 1964 revolution that overthrew the Sultan following independence from Britain.
