Police were forced to lob teargas on Friday to disperse a rowdy crowd that had barricaded the Olkalou-Gilgil highway. The protesters were opposing the construction of a new secondary school on land currently occupied by Nyandarua University College. Meanwhile, transport was paralysed in Kapsuser Kericho County as irate residents barricaded the roads demanding to be employed in one of the tea companies, accusing the company of sidelining them in employment opportunities. Here are the details in the county news briefs.
