Stakeholders from government and civil society have expressed frustration over the slow uptake of digital technology by youths to enhance their economic welfare. ICT and digital economy centre manager Nicholas Akosi highlighted high unemployment rates despite the training of over 2000 youths through the Ajira Digital Programme.The stakeholders pointed to barriers such as inadequate internet and funding in rural areas. They are now encouraging the youth to seek credit facilities, noting that the fund is prepared to assist with international job opportunities by covering travel expenses, including visas and airfare.
