The Ministry of Health has kicked off a five-day polio vaccination campaign following the detection of 5 cases of persons infected with poliovirus type 2 at Kakuma refugee camp in Turkana and Kamukunji in Nairobi. The campaign which targets 3.8 million children under the age of 10 years is ongoing in 9 high-risk counties among them Nairobi, Kiambu, Busia, Bungoma, Turkana, West Pokot, Marsabit, Transnzoia and Machakos.
