The council of Governors wants the National Treasury to form a new directorate that will solely oversee matters devolution and its finances, accusing officers there of prioritising matters at the national level, and only turning to deal with county matters when governors raise alarm. CoG vice chairperson and Wajir governor Ahmed Abdulahi says issues touching on counties have repeatedly been pushed to the periphery, and asked Treasury CS John Mbadi to implement the directorate request as a flagship project in his new role.
