The late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere ruled Tanzania for 21 years and he was a contrast departure from the African leaders who amassed so much wealth at the expense of their populace. A visit to Nyerere’s Butiama home in Mwanza region tells a story of a man who was not much moved by earthly possessions. Our reporter Kasichana Masha attended the celebration to mark 25 year since his death and filed the following report.
