The Government has distributed 18.3 million sanitary towels to 2.29 million beneficiaries across 23,492 public schools as part of the sanitary distribution program to support school-going girls not to miss school during their menses.Principal Secretary for the State Department for Gender, Anne Wang'ombe says the Ministry has reported substantial progress in alignment with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), including a 6.8% increase in student bursaries and scholarships in 2024 and the training of 175 police officers to tackle gender-based violence effectively.
