Bishop to Trump: mercy for gays and immigrants; US president demands apology - BBC Africa
The US President Donald Trump has criticised a service held at the Washington National Cathedral after he was called out during a sermon. Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde asked Trump for "mercy", citing feelings of fear among LGBT and immigrant communities. Trump later accused Right Rev. Budde of bringing her church into politics and called her “a radical left hard line Trump heater” in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.
