Chaos erupted during the launch of the Sh55 million Ngoliba Modern Market officiated by Thika Town Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a. A section of residents and traders allegedly ferried from Kiambu, Kiandutu, Limuru, Lari, are reported to have attempted to block the MP from commissioning the project. This forced police led by Thika East Sub-County Police Commander Andrew Nzola to intervene to restore order. During the launch, the MP accused her political nemesis of plotting the botched chaos saying she will not be intimidated as her track record speaks for itself.
