COTU rejects Labour Ministry talks on sugar factory redundancy, calls for job creation focus

The central organization of trade unions COTU, has declined an invitation by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection to participate in a tripartite committee formed to deliberate on a proposed redundancy plan in the sugar sector. In a strongly worded letter to the ministry, Cotu (k) Secretary General Dr. Francis Atwoli stressed that the federation would not be part of any meeting convened to discuss the loss of jobs for Kenyans.
