Kenyans have been urged to take advantage of the mobile registration of national identification cards to acquire their IDs and register as voters for the 2027 general elections. Speaking when he visited the National Registration Bureau, interior cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen however warned registration officials of dire consequences if found soliciting money to offer the service, saying, IDs are free for first-time applicants.
