A section of education stakeholders is calling on the government to reconsider its decision to make mathematics subject optional. Speaking during day 2 of the Kenya Science Engineering Competition that is taking place in Moi Girls Nairobi, the stakeholders said making the mathematics subject optional will erode the gains that the government has made so far in churning out the best mathematics students who compete favourably in the job market.
