Farmers in Turkana to access water to grow drought resistant Crops

    Farmers in Turkana County are set to benefit from a 28.5 million shillings irrigation scheme under implementation in Lokipetot. The Project by the National Government in partnership with Germany is part of a 2.625 billion shilling drought resilience program in the country geared towards assisting farmers in the region access water from River Turkwel. The State Department for Irrigation Principal Secretary Ephantus Kimotho says 60% of the project has been completed and the program is set to be concluded by the end of the fiscal year.
