Government announces plans to put fishermen under Saccos
The government has announced plans to put the Beach Management Units under Saccos and Cooperatives to empower those engaged in fishing activities to access credit.
Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya says this is part of the government’s plan to empower artisanal fishermen to engage in deep sea fishing by supporting them to acquire sizable boats equipped with cold storage facilities and ice making machines.
