Plans by US President Donald Trump to dismantle the US Agency for International Development (USAID) have suffered a blow after a federal judge barred his administration from placing 2,200 workers at the agency on paid leave, hours before the directive took effect. Judge Carl Nichols however refused to grant the petitioners requests to restore grants and contracts and reopen USAID building places. This according to international law experts, throws the fate of millions of beneficiaries of USAID funded programs spread across more than 100 countries, Kenya included, in limbo.
