Kenyans have been urged to observe high levels of hygiene when handling animals to avoid transmission of zoonotic diseases. During celebrations in Nairobi to mark the World Animal Day, animal rights advocates said transmission of diseases such as anthrax, rabies and brucellosis from animals to humans can be avoided if necessary precautions are taken.
