The Kenyan Government in collaboration with Germany is undertaking a 2 billion shillings drought resilience program in Turkana and Marsabit Counties bearing the weight of prolonged drought that has affected close to 3 million people. The program seeks to reduce poverty, ensure food security and promote sustainable economic growth among the most drought hit sector of the population. Two major boreholes are now complete in Turkana County and awaiting commissioning.
