A section of lawyers is accusing the government of attempting to compromise the Law Society of Kenya by appointing its President, Faith Odhiambo, to the committee on compensation of victims of demonstrations, public protests and riots.
The lawyers allege that the appointment has driven a wedge and will compromise the independence of the society. They want Faith Odhiambo to resign from the panel.
