Kajiado County leaders are calling on the Maasai community to embrace education as a tool for social and economic transformation in the wake of concerns over increasing cases of illiteracy.
This was the clarion call at the launch of a book titled, “Road to Less Travelled’’ written by former secretary in the Public Service Commission Joshua Ole Polong. The leaders hailed Polong for penning the book whose contents they say will benefit the community, especially at a time when they are grappling with preserving culture and embracing modernity. In the book Polong emphasises the importance of preserving culture, especially the non-violent aspects and stresses education, saying that education is the key to unity.
