French President Emmanuel Macron said that the African states “forgot” to thank France from preventing their nations of falling under the control of militants.
"I think that they forgot to thank us, but that's ok, it will come in time," said Macron. "None of them would have a sovereign state if the French
army had not deployed in this region," added the French leader.
His comments were made during an annual conference in Paris to French ambassadors and centred on France’s foreign policy goals for 2025.
