Kenya Navy officers have embarked on a reafforestation initiative planting more than 1,500 trees in an area that had been degraded by mining by the base titanium company in Msambweni Kwale County.The exercise is also in preparation for the 60th anniversary celebrations since the formation of the force. The naval training college`s commander colonel Benson Karwimbo says the move seeks to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change that have been witnessed in several parts of the country.
