The Kwale County government has launched a multi-billion-shilling water project aimed at addressing the recurring water shortages in Diani, a popular tourist town. The initiative will provide clean drinking water to more than 200,000 local residents and visitors. The 1.4 billion shillings Ukunda Water Supply project funded by the World Bank and implemented by Kwale Water and Sewerage Company is expected to end water shortages in Ukunda, Diani, Tiwi, and Checkpoint areas in Matuga Sub-county.
