A case in which Chief Justice Martha Koome is challenging the Judicial Service Commission's jurisdiction on judicial appointments and internal governance failed to kick off on Friday. This is after Advocate Nelson Havi, representing an interested party, questioned the legality of the three-judge bench led by Justice Charles Kariuki that was expected to hear the case. Havi, in his argument, cites a conflict of interest in the chief justice appointing the three-judge bench in a case in which she is a petitioner. Additionally, he wants two of the judges to recuse themselves from hearing the case. More details in the scales of justice segment.
