Security officers among them the police and prison warders will begin receiving a pay hike this financial year if the proposal in the supplementary budget sails through. According to the National Assembly’s Budget and Appropriations Committee chairperson Ndindi Nyoro, a total of 3.5 billion shillings has been set aside for the remuneration of the security officers in line with the recommendations of the David Maraga task force. Others to benefit from the supplementary estimates are coffee farmers.
