President Tshisekedi: I’ll not succumb to demands issued by M23 fighters

The East African Heads of State chaired by President William Ruto have called for immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo to prevent more loss of lives and destruction of property. The meeting chaired virtually by President William Ruto who is also the chairperson of the East African Community urged DRC to sit with warring factions including M23 to resolve the conflict. However, DRC President Félix Tshisekedi did not attend the meeting and opted for a national address where he said he won’t succumb to demands issued by M23 fighters.
