Hundreds of irate residents in Gikenere village,Githunguri ,Kiambu County took to the streets to protest a power outage being experienced in the area for the last two weeks. They claimed that Kenya Power and Lighting Company removed a transformer with high voltage replacing it with a much less voltage transformer, causing frequent blackouts. They lamented that businesses have incurred heavy losses calling on the area Member of Parliament Gathoni Wa Muchomba to Intervene.
