The Senate is set to convene in Busia from the 23rd to the 27th of September this year under the Senate Mashinani initiative. The sitting aims to showcase the capabilities of county governments and address challenges in legislative oversight. Speaking during a courtesy call at Busia governor’s office, the head of a delegation from the senate, Zakayo Mogire said the rotational sittings allow them to interact with locals to figure out their challenges. Busia deputy governor Arthur Odera the initiative will them an opportunity to address challenges county governments face in the Senate’s legislation and oversight roles.
