Utafiti uliofanywa na shirika la Elimu Bora umefichua kwamba wazazi katika shule za umma za msingi na zile za sekondari msingi wanaendelea kubebeshwa mzigo wa ada haramu zinazotozwa na shule.Ada hizo haramu zinajumuisha zile za usajili,madawati,vitabu ,karatasi za uchapishaji,miradi ya maendeleo ,masomo ya ziada miongoni mwa nyingine. Asilimia-85.7 ya shule zilizochunguzwa huwatuma wanafunzi nyumbani iwapo wanashindwa kulia ada hizo , hali inayosababisha ongezeko la visa vya wanafunzi kuwacha shule.
