The country is staring at a sixth failed rain season, as the weather man says the rains expected to start in two weeks’ time, will be depressed across parts of the country. The Kenya meteorological department's March to May rains, will also delay in its onset, and will be characterised by poor distribution. Arid and semi-arid areas will experience below average rainfall. The department has asked government policy and decision makers, to use the forecast to avert likely disasters, in event of extreme weather conditions like floods, that are likely to be experienced in the Lake Victoria basin area.
