Wizara ya elimu imetangaza kuwa kuna upungufu wa shilingi bilioni 15.4 katika pendekezo la bajeti ya fedha ya mwaka wa 2024/25 inayopaswa kufaulisha masomo ya shule za upili za awali,JSS. Isitoshe wizara hiyo imesema kuwa hakuna fedha zilizotengewa mpango wa lishe kwa shule ilhali wanahitaji takribani shilingi bilioni 4.9 zinahitajika. Kiwango kilichopendekezwa kwa wizara ya elimu cha shilingi bilioni 139.1 hakitoshi kukidhi mahitaji ya wanafunzi wote nchini.
