Justice sector deploys mobile traffic courts to curb road accidents during festivities

The National Council on the Administration of Justice has announced enhanced traffic enforcement measures following a rise in road accident fatalities across the country, as travel increases ahead of the festive season. Meeting at the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice Martha Koome, together with police, prosecutors, transport regulators and anti-corruption agencies, unveiled a coordinated approach in a bid to reduce road carnage during the festive season and beyond.The move comes as official statistics show a five percent increase in traffic-related deaths this year.
